April 2026 Ministry Update

Hi everyone! I hope you've been doing well. I am excited to share with you what ministry at Collin has been like this past month!

FOJs

With the end of the school year fast approaching, many of the one-on-one Bible studies I have been doing with students on campus have been coming to a bittersweet close. It is so cool to have spent a year getting to know these guys, many of whom I now consider friends and am excited to see where God will take them! Here are some selfies with William, Emmanuel, and Ryan, but please also keep in your prayers other students I am studying with including Gage, Brayden, Muhammed, Ahmed, Trey, and Tomas. Please pray that God would continue to work in the time we spend together and for fruit as they take what they've learned this year and apply it to their lives!

Community Building and Service

One of our values as a ministry is raising up leaders, so we have been utilizing some students that excited about serving their campus and community to create more avenues for outreach and have partnered with them as they connect with their peers in different ways! We've hosted outdoor games in green spaces on campus, done puzzles, played board games, started up spiritual conversations, and prayed for people. Even though it is late in the semester, I am excited about hitting the ground running in the fall now that these students have some boots on the ground evangelistic experience! Seeing them love their campus well and serve churches in our area with humility is inspirational to me! Here are some pictures of hangouts on campus and a work day from my church that FOCUS students came to serve for!

A lot of lasts...

The end of the school year coming up has also meant the last cores and TNFs of the school year are this week, too. I am feeling so blessed to be a part of it all! Seeing the way God has worked in these students' lives is super sweet to see and a joy to celebrate. This year has felt like it has flown by and like Christmas was forever ago all at the same time. Thank you so much for being a part of it through your prayers, encouragement emails, and your support. None of this would be possible without your faithfulness! Here are some shots from our last Monday core, the Allen Bible study Ryan (a different Ryan) and I put together, and our Family Night from last month!

Thank you!

With finals around the corner, it has been a time of encouragement and gratitude seeing what all God has done this year and I am so grateful to you all for making it possible! I am so blessed to have each of you in my corner praying for me and supporting me! In our Tuesday Bible study we spent some time in 1 Corinthians 15 and I wanted to share verses 54-57 with you as the school year wraps up:

"When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: 'Death has been swallowed up in victory.'
'Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?'
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

- 1 Corinthians 15:54-57

It gives me great joy to take the Good News to campuses and to share with students that there is true life in Jesus that He is offering them, both now and in the life to come! We have been given victory, and seeing that victory take root at Collin is incredible!

If you would like to hear more or have any family and friends who may be interested in receiving these ministry updates, please let me know! Thank you so much again for partnering with me! If this is your first time receiving this email, a browser version of this blog and the rest of the blog posts I have made this year are available at http://mick.mcafoose.anyfocus.org/. Attached below is Kalyn's testimony, a student from our UTD ministry! Whoosh!

In Christ,
Mick
