September 2025 Ministry Update

    Hi everyone! It is hard to believe it is almost October already - I hope you are enjoying PSL season. Here is what has been going on at Collin this month!

Core

    Cores (what we call our weekly Bible studies) are up and running, which has been such an encouragement! We spent the first couple of weeks talking about community and building meaningful relationships with each other and have since been going through James - looking specifically at what it looks like to live out our faith to the watching world around us. A couple of prayer requests for core: please pray that guys would make core a priority each week and that they would take the content to heart. I am excited to see what God has in store for this year! Here are some pictures so far:

TNF and FOJ

    Making TNF (Thursday Night Fellowship - a weekly worship night/service geared toward Collin students) happen this semester has been a wild ride, but we have found our stride this month - thank you for praying for guidance and direction from God. We are now hosting TNF at a local church called Reclamation we are connected with that is pretty close to the Plano campus and it has been a great fit! We began the year with a sermon series on 1 Peter that has been really moving, and students seem to have a lot of takeaways. It is a blessing to gather as a whole community each Thursday and we aren't slowing down yet - this past Thursday was our most attended TNF this year! Here is a picture from the new location:

    I have also gotten to start up FOJs (Focus on Jesus - a Bible study plan FOCUS uses for 1-on-1 discipleship) with a number of students so far this semester, including a couple of non-Christian students who are interested in learning more about Christ. FOJ is a way I have built some meaningful friendships over the years and I still feel like I grow every time I study through it with someone. Please be praying for Everett, Grant, Benny, Emmanuel, Jackson, Devon, Troy, Brayden, and William - some of the guys who I meet with weekly to dive into God's Word!     It is such a blessing having you guys in my corner and seeing these students come to love Christ more and more as the weeks pass. We have been going through 1 Peter on Thursday nights and I am always moved y 1 Peter 2:9-10:

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."

- 1 Peter 2:9-10

    Getting to invite students into the nation of priests God is building has been the honor of my life and I am so grateful that you have helped make it all possible!

    A quick prayer request: we have Fall Retreat coming up in October. I am hoping it will be a time for students to get out of the monotony of the school year and get to spend a weekend focused on God's goodness. Please pray that God would move that weekend - it'll be October 19 and 20. Thank you so much again for partnering with me!
