December 2025 Ministry Update

Hi everyone! I hope it has been a sweet holiday season for you and your loved ones. I am excited to share what we have been up to at Collin FOCUS!

Core

Core this semester ended on a really high note! We closed the year out spending time in Philemon and talking about ways to serve and continue to grow in Christ over winter break - a season with less structure and typically a little more disconnection from friends in our ministry. It is a blessing seeing these guys step up week after week and devote time to be in God's Word and be with God's people! Core will ramp back up with the start of the school year and I am excited for what God has in store for us. Here are some core pics - one of our Monday core and the other with both our Monday and Wednesday core at our Christmas party!

Christmas Party!

With the way the semesters tend to fall, the Christmas season is a great time to celebrate the Incarnation and bring our ministry together one last time before school lets out. This year we tried something new - a candlelit TNF service followed by our Christmas party as a wrap for the fall and it was so much fun! We sang worship songs, read from Scripture, and listened to excerpts from The Jesus I Never Knew,  then at the Christmas party we ate spaghetti, played Jeopardy, and drank a whole lot of hot chocolate! Here is a picture from the event:

Thank you!

It is such a blessing having you all in my corner and getting to see the ways God is moving at Collin! I love what I get to do, the people I get to work with, the students I have met, and getting to share with you how God's Kingdom is growing. In the spirit of Christmas, I have been reading the nativity story and love Simeon's prayer:

"For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel."
- Luke 2:30-32

Getting to share this Jesus, the salvation, light, and glory of God all wrapped in one, with students on college campuses is the honor of a lifetime. Thank you so much for making it possible and for investing in the lives of these students!

If you would like to hear more or have any family and friends who may be interested in receiving these ministry updates, please let me know! Thank you so much again for partnering with me! If this is your first time receiving this email, a browser version of this blog and the rest of the blog posts I have made this year are available at http://mick.mcafoose.anyfocus.org/. Attached below is an update from KFG - our Keep FOCUS Growing initiative - as well as Jared's testimony, an alumni from our UTD ministry (and a good friend of mine)!!

Blessings,

Mick
