February 2026 Ministry Update
Hey everyone! I hope you're doing well - I'd say staying warm but it has been hot in Dallas. Here is what we have been up do at Collin FOCUS!
TNF and Pizza Theology
One of our goals this semester has been to drive home a deeper love and knowledge of the Scripture among our students - especially the Old Testament. We have been going through the promises and covenants of God at TNF and have been emphasizing the way we get to be faithful to Him and to each other just like our God. It has been a powerful reminder of how sweet and good our Father is to us and students have been rising to the occasion. I have had lots of follow up conversations and have seen guys put faithfulness into action in neat ways this semester! Here is a picture - and an invitation to our Family Night we will be hosting in a couple of weeks. It would be amazing to have you there!
We also hosted another Pizza Theology event last Sunday where FOCUS ministries across the DFW area gathered for four hours of Scriptural teaching with an hour-long pizza dinner in between. The topic this go round was "How to Think Like a Christian" as opposed to being pushed around with what the world calls knowledge and wisdom. I remember a similar pizza theology subject from when I was a sophomore at UTD, so it was cool to see another generation of students be blessed by the same content! Here are some pics:
Core
A quick prayer request - core has been a bit of a roller coaster this semester. It has been difficult to encourage some newer guys to be consistent and prioritize time with God in Bible study, particularly for our Monday night core. Please be praying for us - for students as they decide whether or not spiritual community is something they are willing to invest in, praise for guys who have been faithful to study God's Word with God's people, and for Kevin and I as we navigate shepherding these dudes! Here are some core pics!
Last but certainly not least... I was blessed to get to go back home and help out with City Lights, an annual weekend event for the student ministry at Cypress Bible Church. The theme of the weekend was "Surrendered" and we spent time worshipping, in sermons, in small groups, and serving the community over three days. I had a blast and was so touched seeing students worship and serve Jesus. The youth ministry at CBC is where I first began putting my faith into action and came to love Jesus more and more. Serving alongside many of you who poured into me as a high schooler and continue to support me in ministry now is such a high honor! Here are some pics!
Thank you all so very much for the opportunity to do ministry every day. I am such a blessed man getting to have y'all in my corner as we make God's name great at Collin College! As I shared before, I have been encouraged as we've gone through the covenants in the Old Testament and the way it tells of God's faithfulness. Here is part of his promise to David:
