Hi everyone! School is in full swing and I am excited to be back on campus! Here is a little bit of what we have been up to at Collin FOCUS.
Welcome Week!
School is back in session and we have hit the ground running! For the first week of the semester we set up tables at each of the different Collin campuses where we will have Bible studies - Plano, McKinney, Wylie, and Frisco - to meet students and share information about FOCUS. We passed out iced coffee, temporary tattoos, dirty sodas, ramen, stickers, pens, bookmarks, and lots of pamphlets out to students as they made their way to and from class. It was sweet getting to interact with young adults and meet them where they're at in their lives and I am prayerful that the interactions we have had will bear fruit! We had TNF on Thursday and a block party on Friday with lawn games for students to get to know each other more. Here are some pics from the week!
Core
We kicked off our Bible studies this week as well! I am leading two this semester - one on Mondays in Plano with my friend Ranjeev and another on Wednesdays in Wylie with my friend Kevin. I am pretty excited! In my experience core has been where I've gotten to know guys so much deeper and have gotten to build some pretty valuable, Christ-centered friendships. Please be praying for us: that the guys in core would be open to learning more about Jesus and would be open to inviting other guys into their lives! Here are a couple pics!
Some Sweet Goodbyes...
One of the hardest parts about my job is saying goodbye to guys I have gotten to know over the last couple of years, and in community college people move on to other schools quick! A lot of the guys I have gotten to spend time with last year have since moved on to other colleges, but I am grateful that God let us cross paths. Here are some pics with my friends Grant, Emmanuel, and Ryan the last time we hung out before they left!

Thank you!
As always, thank you so much for partnering with me in campus ministry! It is a huge blessing having you be a part of my life and a part of what God is doing at Collin. As part of meeting new students, I have gotten to share my story of faith a lot and have found myself really appreciative of all of you and the role you've played in that one way or another!
I got to give a sermon at our second TNF of the year and one of the passages I spoke about was John 6. Here's verse 35:
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."
I love sharing with students on campus about the risen Jesus - the bread of life who has filled me and promises to fill them too! All glory be to God!
Thank you so much again for partnering with me! If this is your first time receiving this email, a browser version of this blog and the rest of the blog posts I have made this year are available at http://mick.mcafoose.anyfocus.org/. Attached below is Denzel's testimony, good friend and a student from our Collin ministry! Go Coogs!
In Christ,
Mick
